New tank. ADA 60-F Bommie style! 9 gallon shallow

very nice.... I hate even to think of my vacation this year ugh nice comeback tho tank looks great

Haha - hate to think of a another vacation.. YUCK. my sister is getting married in mexico.. so I gueeeeesss I have to go.. but I'm seriously contemplating installing a surveillance cam that I can watch from my phone.

Looks great,i would not get a mandarin or pipefish for the tank however, they are very picky and you could never produce enough food to keep one alive let alone both. Now if you get a mandarin that eats frozen, you're ok.Good luck.

yeah - that mandarin will absolutely be trained to eat frozen with a net breeder and some live brine shrimp. Once he's eating frozen mysis I'll graduate onto bottle feeding. Anyone know where you can get real ORA mandarins? I'd rather not get a wild caught one..

The bluestripes are a little bit less researched in terms of feeding. They certainly eat pods as a major part of their diet in the wild - but I've seen a good amount of success with training them to eat mysis as well.

Either way I have a phyto culture and a 5 gallons of pod cultures that I've been feeding with the phyto that are going to supplement the tank just in case I acquire a rebellious student in the training.

Update! its been awhile!

cool! Is your return covered by that strainer? Thats a smart idea. Also did you buy your tank or was it a DIY job? I really like it. Good luck!

thanks guys - yup the return is covered by the strainer! I've been thinking about putting a locline directional nozzel on it though so I can direct the flow out of the return muuuuuuuch better.

The tank is an ADA 60-f . . I got it off a website, although I can't remember which anymore. They were in backed up in production when I was looking for one though because of the tsunami that hit japan, not sure if they're up and running up to demand yet.

Thanks walt! - the toadstool I got from you is currently at war with the pagoda, and is running (stretching) away, cowards win sometimes I guess. lol

Here's some evening shots I took of the clownfish and the chromis hanging out in the glow of the setting sun *ambient music*

LOL!!!!

Naked Clowns (although she is a lady of good taste) are truly stunning in the glow of sunlight -

wow thanks for the feedback everyone.. definitely entering a new stage with the tank - I really don't have much more room for any more large pieces, and i'm not really a fan of cluttered nano tanks with a thousand different species of coral. Maybe a nice mini colony of acropora for a while..... or so I say lol.

Thinking of putting an LED over the sump and a little frag rack down there too, oh boy!

Just fragged up some stuff yesterday - first time cutting a hairy mushroom... I can't believe how utterly dead looking they become right after you cut them off the stalk.. we'll see how it goes.
