Planning a new system- sneak peak

Nice meeting you today! Thank you for the sand. Now a quick question about your screen. Did you make that yourself or did you purchase the proper size somewhere? I am looking to do something like that for my tank also.

Hi Yury, nice meeting you too. I made this screen from kit available at HD or Lowes. I just cut it to size. I used clear screen mash that I got from Best Fish, same as BRS. I still have enough for couple of tanks my size. You should have asked me, I would give it to you for free. Next time you're in the area just let me know, I will cut a piece for you.

Sorry for lack of updates, continue to be very busy at work and when I get home I want to spend some quality time with my family. Nothing new , except that I finally have water in. My RO/DI is working overtime, it should be full by tomorrow. Next will come a little waiting time to fully cycle it. I am also getting a new " toy" for this tank, stay tuned. Should arrive soon :)

It took four months to get to this point, and I see your patience paid off. It's a beautiful set up. Love how clean looking it is.

Thanks guys, I am getting excited myself. I really like the Xaqua overflows. They don't take any space inside tank, very easy to clean, if for some reason I need to take them off, all I need is to lower water level about an inch. They are quiet but you need to make sure the drain hose doesn't hung straight down, causing water falling down quickly and making noise. I have them positioned about 45 degree and very nice and quiet. Still can hear some water, but very calming, quiet water noise if this makes sense. I think after a little time and slime build up inside hoses, it will be almost dead silent.I am pushing about 1100 gph through those two. My bigger concern was surface skimming ability, but so far I don't see any problems , water surface is nicely agitated and clean of any oils or dust.

My new toy in back of my car :biggrin1:
