Reddevil's Little slice of Nano Blue in the office build.

I think that tank is a little small for dogfish! Nice setup, sometimes things just fit together and you hit it spot on...

Okay so here we go after an afternoon of tinkering I figured the easiest way to make an overflow and keep it from being an eye sore. Version 1.0, a 2" PVC pipe cut in half and place the teeth on top!

Alright it looks good! Now all I have to do is stuff the pump and heater back there too. I figure I will use HQ carbon or phosoban in a couple of filter bags and cut some poly as a prefilter. Heres where it gets sticky....I didn't take in to consideration how wide the pump and heater were. DOOHH so none of it fit behind the PVC overflow. v1.2 coming up!

Perfect fit!

All I need is some silicone to seal the PVC to the glass and maybe drill a couple of holes lower in the PVC to allow water to fill and flow when the pump is not running.

Well folks that's the major stuff. Keep you updated!

Had the idea in my head for a while....just motivated to do it before work starts. That's Lola Grace Martinez. She is going to save my marriage while I am away at work for those absurd hours!

Here's a better picture! Shes a Dachshund only 3 months old.

Isaac you need to put leds in the little window on the bottom and then go bb, suspend a rock and grow zoas on both sides. Just sayin. . .

Awesome fabrication. You'll be selling these in no time.

Ha that would be an awesome ! Could use two different color temps top light 10K and bottom light 15K. Would be like dark side of the moon. Cool huh!

That would be very cool. I just feel like that little window is taunting your low voltage wiring skills. :)

Ha here I am at the office thinking of what items I have around the house...I have an extra Kessile special blend that I am not using. Hmmmm

Oh I have a old Skyy light from IM. WOW I could do this

mount a little acrylic rod on your overflow sticking into the middle of the tank from the back wall. Then find a nice rock and drill a hole in it. Boom= Houdini tank. (now figure out a way to make the rock slowly rotate like a chicken on a spit and I will get you a job with George Lucas)

That's amazing I was thinking of a way to spin it as well! HAHAA

Great minds think alike Isaac!
It would be so cool if the flow came from the rock moving instead of water moving around the rock. (very Lao Tzu)

even if you did it by hand once a week or something it would be a cool way to keep the scape fresh. (Like a Wassily Kandinsky painting)

So I am think instead of putting in a sand bed, that I would make a false one like yogo did with his rock wall. That way it would still look like a sand bed with out the maintenance. The only question is how?

For that small of an area you could cut a piece of plexi or acrylic to fit and then just epoxy and sprinkle sand and place rocks on it. Or get one really big rock and cut it to fit on a tile saw (I have one if needed)

that dog is adorable haha, and that whole suspended rock thing sounds amazing! stick like a shrimp or two on it and it will look like a mini planet with its own gravity
