Rebuilt the frag tank for the clowns and moved the six line to the spec to live with the tail spot. Hopefully tomorrow I'll finally get to hang the new LEDs.
And the real boss of the tank waiting for his yasha:
Thanks guys! Finished mounting the new LEDs yesterday and all I can say is WOW, this all CREE fixture with basically the same color spectrum as the Chinese Par 30s brings out colors that I have never even seen in the tank before. I would still go T5 or T5/LED hybrid if I had the choice on this size tank, but for now I'm pretty happy. Still have to play with the dimming of each channel based on color and how the coral responds, but for the most part, it was a great upgrade. Once the canopy is built this weekend I'll take a couple photos with the DSLR but here are some crappy iPhone pics for now:
Also finished up the all CREE fuge light (2xRB, 2xR, 2xCW). Already growing some green stuff down there after one day but hopefully getting some new chaeto shortly.
Added the last additions to the Deep Blue 7.5g for the clowns today so I took some photos. Got these absolutely amazing "sunburst/neon orange" BTAs from a local reefer and they have been in for about an hour. Sorry about the floating crap, just cleaned the glass and moved the GSP since I want to let the BTAs settle and choose their "spots" before I place the frags in their forever homes. There are actually two of the orange ones in there. The second one is starting to crawl through the back towards the front. It has more green than the big one in front.
Also got this green BTA with some nice orange tips from Aquapros:
Thanks guys! Got some nice shots of the SPS tank last night too. I need to re-do the white balance setting though for the new LEDs but still came out pretty well.
Went out to Burbank today to see Hung and being back what I thought would be my last piece for the tank. He had my Tyree pink lemonade, and probably the nicest looking colony I've ever seen in person.
Here's a crappy iPhone shot of my little frag:
I said what I thought would be my last piece because my plan was to glue this in the back of the tank to the right of the bugout stylo. Instead I decided to move the red milli since it seemed to be getting too much light and put the lemonade in it's place. Lemonade was up high in hung's tank under six radion G3 pros so it should be able to handle it. Milli is to the right of the blue no name sps now leaving that back spot open for something else. Any suggestions for a deep red piece that doesn't mind very high light and flow?
Here's a crappy iPhone shot of the current placement. Also added the little aquaman monti from Jaime on the bottom front:
Crappy iPhone shots made me a sad panda.....had to get out the DSLR:
