SkullV's Office Ecoxotic EcoPico Build

you can try a marina 10 watt heater.. i use it for my 2.5 gallon pico.. it keeps the temp at about 78-79.. lowest it got was 77.. it works pretty well IMO

If I ever swap heaters I'll go with a Jager. Until then the Fluval will do.

Brought the rock and the rest of the water to work today. Found a few hitchhikers from my reef tank in the rock. Looks like we got a couple Stomatella snails to look at until tomorrow. Also tomorrow I'll get the big SubCurrent overflow out and place the two rocks in a better way. I'm just going to rely on the Koralia Nano and the live rock for filtration. Shouldn't be a problem being a barebottom to get any settled detritus out during the weekly 1g water change.

Iphone thinks the LEDs are Purple.....

With glass top and removing the overflow box, how will you handle surface agitation and oxygen transfer to maintain good pH during the daytime?

The glass top is not sealed. There is about 1/8" on each side and a 1.5"ish opening in the back. The Koralia Nano is doing just fine with surface agitation.

Probably the final rockscape. Should fill in well with the coral that I'm bringing from home but there will always be room for more!

The glass top may have to go for another reason though. It blocks quite a bit of light with the water droplets forming on the underside.

Moved some things around and brought some coral from home. Still not sure what I want to do for fish but I'm going to bring a snail or 2 tomorrow. I also know I'll be adding a cleaner shrimp so I have to get another one of those. I also gave in and ordered an additional 2 EcoPico strips for a total of 5. I'll have 6 Cool White LEDs and 9 Royal Blue LEDs. I should be able to keep anything I want in this little guy now.

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited to get the rest of the lights over the tank. It's pretty weird looking with 7 royal blue and only 2 white. I still need to figure out how to get a 1w or .5w red LED in there. I'm thinking of drilling the LED arm and just going with a cheap red LED from radio shack.

Well I gave in. I went into New Fish today and they had this really nice little guy. He'll be going in tomorrow:
