SkullV's Office Ecoxotic EcoPico Build

was also wondering what online store did u get the filter at?

Petdiscounters.com I wasn't too sure about them when I ordered, but they were the only place that had it in stock. Shipped the same day by USPS priority so it got here in 2 days.

Thanks for the compliments guys! The best part about this tank is that it is a distraction for our clients' kids when they bring them. Everything is finally coming together here. The clam is temporary, I figured it was safer here then with my Regal Angel at home (it was nipping). The toadstool will go back up where it was so the Scoly is visible again as well. Tomorrow I'll be bringing a firefish with me to add to the tank too.

You can also see that the wires are now hidden completely.

I just gotta say WOW! Cnt believe its just a 5 gallon tank. Sometimes i thnk the small pico tanks are as good as the big tanks if done correctly.. Good job ted

just read your thread, really nice tank Skull, are you going to keep it BB? Im setting up a 5g tank at work and was planning on sand but now that i see yours i may not. how often are you doing WC's?

Thanks

Thanks man. I'm going to leave it BB. So much easier to maintain. Right now I'm doing 1g every week and that seems to be working just fine. Once the fish is added back in again tomorrow I may up it to 1g twice a week. It's really easy to just bring a 1g jug of water from my mixing container at home and I have an eheim jager heater that fits right in to warm it up before water changes (really important on these small tanks).

i think im gonna get the jager too, i was looking at hydor heaters but its too risky without a controller. Im lucky i get all the ro i want at work. Maybe you can use water from the water cooler if you have one.

That's exactly what I use for top off! I use a fluval edge heater in the tank and the jäger for the mixed water change water that I bring from home. Those jagers are just too big for these little tanks.

Everything was all perked up and looking good so I snapped a shot. The big toadstool leather just didn't fit in so I took it home and tossed it in the LED lit fuge. I think I'll try it in the DT once all of the SPS is gone.
