Spartanman's cube

Sorry to hear about the multi-bar....

Say, what's this cool acro on your frag rack?

That was just a no-namer I got from AP. It was paled out when I got it and it's colored up beautifully. I'll have to get an updated photo up. It really has turned into a nice piece.

Here is a recent shot of it under blue LEDs. I'll have to get the DSLR out and get a more accurate shot.

Regardless of what it's called it is a gorgeous piece! Mine has just started to encrust and take off. 3 more weeks and I can finally mount it.

Lately my coral have been coloring up some kind of crazy. So, I'm kinda nervous to switch back to halides and T5s.

I remember you saying that you use only a fraction of your reef lights capacity. Why are LEDs insufficient?

I run my current display with an OR-T247 and run the whites at 35% and the blues at 45% on an 18" cube. My frag tank is lit by a kessil at 100% blues and 75% whites. The frag tank is 18x18x8". The LEDs are very nice and I strongly considered running OR-T247s on the 80 gallon DB I'm upgrading to. But to do so would mean I'd need two fixtures and with it being open top I thought that would detract from the overall look of the setup. The tank will be in the main living area of my apartment and I want it to look nice.

I do love MH/T5 and prefer it over LEDs, but with my success with the OR-T247s Id consider staying with them. It's just that a single MH/T5 fixture aesthetically looks nicer a over a rimless tank than two smaller LED fixtures. But we'll see I'm going to keep the OR-T247 and try to investigate a means of hooking up 2-3 units and still have it look nice. The low heat and lack of replacement bulbs is a strong motivator!

Anyone have any tips on getting a finicky fish eating. My new Juvi Regal has shown interest in food but hasn't dug in yet. I've tried mysis, brine, plankton, carnivore blend, spectrum pellets, and fresh little neck clams. He's interested just hasn't dug in yet.

Some corals....

JayKay.

Usually they will follow the other angels after watching threm eat.
Is it grazing? Picking on rock work?

It has been grazing. It's in my frag tank with SPS and a few LPS and its with a Golden so hopefully he figures it out!

Fwiw my navarchus didnt eat while in QT for 4 weeks. Atleast not when i put the food in. He was in with 4 other fish. None wanted to eat while i was there. They must have picked at stuff while i was at work. Most of it would settle and they would not care for it.

Once in the DT they went crazy and ate everything.

My buddies potters didnt eat for 1st 2 weeks.
