Who likes to shoot and where

So you can't bring handguns to this place or any place in Indiana for that matter? I remember a while back I had no problem but that was quite a few years ago. I haven't been shooting in a while because I haven't been able to afford it since I bought this **** house, between the house and the fish tank they suck up all my cash that and the price of ammo going way up. But I would like to squeeze off a few in the near future now that you brought up this thread to remind me. Thankx Z-man now you got to bring me out shooting LOL
Sherif that was there told us there was a law that prohibits Illinois residents from shooting handguns in Indiana or purchasing can someone confirm that?

It's likely because of FOID in Illinois. Indiana doesn't keep track of out-of-state shooters so they just make it easy and shut down all IL residents so they don't have to deal with the hassle. It's all a bunch of legality politics.

Chances are they have a law prohibiting you to carry and/or shoot...but anyone should be able to purchase a handgun, as long as you qualify to purchase it. That's just like some people purchase guns online.

I carry a Ruger P90 .45 cal...it hasn't failed me yet. :)

oh snap, you just made my day. My favorite handgun is my KP95 (9mm) and my DB friends always say Ruger is lame (until I shoot a group with it and show them single-double action)

Yeah, I love it...when I was in the academy, other people use to question my choice, but now everyone talk about how nice, and reliable it is. Some people have been forced to replace their handgun for different reasons, but mine is still going strong. I'm thinking of getting a smaller compact 9mm, but not sure what I want yet. I've heard springfield makes a nice one, but it's bulky, and glock also have a nice new one.

what do you carry Rosko?

Depends on the situation.. I carry Ruger lcp for undercover situations, Glock 17&19 during normal situations, Glock 17,19 and DS Arms AR 15 during search warrants (Yes 3 guns) =) and I still have my trustee Sig Sauer P220 C ( but that thing is cursed lol). We can only carry double action guns. I use to be a BIG fan of .45, but now I am a BIG fan of high capacity mags like my Glock 17. ... I have PERSONALLY seen multiple people shot with .45s and keep kicking.. I have been tempted to get the Glock 45, but full size is rather large for less rounds then my 17.

Ya that would be messed up seeing that Indiana residents dont have to have a permit to own a gun "I dont think anyways" but we do in Illinois so I wouldn't see what the problem would be seeing that we actually went through the steps to legally own a gun and have gone through the state police for a background check

Yeah but we are close to Chicago and we all know their handgun laws. Hey Smitty is that the only handgun you own tho? Or do you own a few others also.

**** bro, you ain't playing :) ...you got some serious "big boy" toys. I agree with you, I'd rather carry high capacity, but my dept only allow us to carry .45
Do cpd allow their officers to carry other than 9mm's now, that's all they were allowed back in the day, other than revolvers?

Smitty, I used to own a CZ P-01 9mm. Was the absolute most comfortable 9mm I've ever fired. Fit and finish is absolutely A+ quality. Very little kick and double/triple taps were extremely accurate (when we were allowed to do so under range owners supervision) I had upgraded bits and a polished barrel. A co-worker of mine owns it now, I needed money and hadn't been to the range in a while so he bought it off me. The only oddball feature was no trigger safety, it had a de-c0cker mechanism to drop the hammer down, I believe this was something to do with some NATO regulation. AFAIK, it's still the only NATO spec pistol that is available to the public.

Yep, all I have is one now, I used to have 3 handguns and a mossberg shotgun. I've gotten rid of the other handguns, and let my grandmother keep the shotgun for home protection, since (she) chicago residents can't keep handguns.

Sweet piece...yeah, it's probably designed like the Glock brand, as far as not having a safety.
