I didnt open it up. Wonder if putting silicone around all the seams if that would stop it from happening

I wonder if keeping all outlet conections under a separate part of the cabinet
Ive only seen salt creep around rim of tank. And inside the cabinet...also in some light fixtures but....
chewal where is your outlet position in relation to where the tank was?

As of now i want to be pro prevention of the events that happened with salt creep.

Not trying to hijack your thread anarchy. Id like to get some suggestions on how to prevent or prepare for( a new topic can be started so no hijack)

This is the precise reason why I'm housing all electronics in a dedicated cabinet on my new build. I've had too much salt creep and water get on plugs and power supplies when they were housed inside or behind the stand

Heres where my apex and power strips are mounted. Its sealed off with silicone so no salt creep can get in

Heres the outlet that my powerstrips plug in to

And this is where the power supply was sitting

So ive lost a tenuis and some of the tips on other acros are starting to die so ive decided to go back to doing water changes. Im going to do 20 gallons a week for about 2 months then ill cut back to 10 gallons.

Did the first 20 on tuesday and it looks like some acros perked up a little. I think my trave elements were pretty depleted. I was getting terrible growth and the dying i mentioned earlier but everything was stable and all parameters in check.

Changed gfo and carbon today.

On a happier note picked this bad boy up

The kole tang of course has been picking on him. It was picking at the rocks today so im happy about that but its not agressive during feeding time and i havnt seen it eating mysis yet. Ill be picking up more of a variety of foods soon and im hoping something sparks its interest

Well i stopped doing water changes because i was starving my tank of nutrients. Sps was pale so instead of buying fish i just stopped changing water. It worked for awhile but now im buying fish again so its time to replenish everything. Hoping after the larger water changes my growth will come back. Seriously the slowest growth id ever seen in my life

Then you haven't seen my tank hahahaha...... I think I have one or 2 sps that I can see growth on makes me so mad, but I see color change in my tank with in a week of introducing it to my tank idk what that's all about

Sps react differently in every tank. For example me, tinman, and sawdonkey have the same sky doppel acro and it looks different in each tank. Mines in the highest light and looks like this

Tinmans has more of the purple/blue tips and sawdonkey has the actual color its supposed to be.

Its all about light intensity, flow and location in tank. Read up on the acros your buying and see what they like to get the full potential out of them. Par meter comes in very handy

Color is looking good and you have polyp extension, but now comes the hard part. Patience! Just let it do its thing. As long as you see polyps and it looks happy then youre doing something right

Not my normal kind of update but im pretty happy with the tanks right now. Alot of my sps are showing even better polyp extension than usual which is always a great thing. Theres still a couple of them im worried about losing but nothing crazy. Copperband was picking at the rocks and at some mysis yesterday so ive got high hopes for him. The kole tang has chilled out alot. It now lets the copperband swim freely but every now and then they go at it.

Had this go army shroom for about a year it was the size of a dime when i got it and its now a quarter. Wtf. Thought shrooms were like rabbits. And it was only like $20 so not even like a high end shroom.
