Cornbred Frag Grow Out

let's cut these bitzes. My two chalices survived the move and have started putting on new rim. I would DEFINITELY prefer to cut them all so we have a complete back-up set, and we could even cut more pieces (on the ones that can) so I can split them between my two systems but I defer to the group.
 
i need the community's help to to figure out what needs to happen. I really wanted to be part of this grow out. i was speaking to Gus about it and he told me that i could be part of it and the buy in was 300. so i met up with him at midwest coral farm the same day he transferred the chalices over to nino and gave him the 300. i asked him a day or 2 later y my name was not in the grow out list and he told me that i would be taking his spot in the grow out. i figured Gus is pretty well known in the community and he has his led business so i dont need to worry about anything. fast froward to a year later....i c some chalices have 6 eyes so i tried to get a hold of Gus. I saw his posts about him going to school full time, not doing the led business anymore, and his phone number had changed. i pm'd him to call me but he never did. i texted nino (colaaddict) and told him of my situation and he gave me gus's e-mail that he had paypaled on April 5th and 2 sets of phone numbers. I emailed him but no reply and the phone numbers are no hope either. What do u guys think i need to do?

Wow. This has the potential to be messy. Was it confirmed that you were in and this was communicated to everyone or was this only with Gus?

I've tried several times to get a hold of Gus as did other members. Kinda messed up what he did but that's on him. Since I'm not part of growout I have no real say, but I think the other guys should vote on it. JMO

Yeah anyone else besides Gus know? Also; y wait til now to say something!!! Lol I would have stated it openly as soon as it happened.

I know he told people he moved. But id put $ on it he didn't.

GUS come out of wood work to speak on this!! I know ur reading!!! Lol u don't owe me any $ so I'm not looking for u!!!

Was there a point in this thread where Gus left his portion to someone else when he left. I don't have time right now to read back, but I guess I forgot he was still part of this and no longer here. The only thing you really can do is try to get in touch with Gus. I'm sorry you are experiencing that but it isn't really part of this grow out unless that transaction was in some way noted and approved (let me know if it was). I can go back and take a look too but I have meeting today. Fortunately I can see EVERYTHING :)

I'd also personally prefer we not go over a lot of conjecture or ideas that aren't specifically related to the grow out in this thread just to stay on topic.
 
Hmm. So the email and numbers I gave you didnt work? Those were pretty recent too. Its alright. Unless, any of us hears from him, I guess his part of the frags are yours. He never said anything to me at MCF when he handed the frags over to me.
 
i waited because GUS said that he had mentioned to nino about me being part of the growout and nino told him that there were many people in line that wanted to be part of the grow out that never made it and that if he wanted me to be part of it it would have to be between gus and i. so GUS said that there is a lot of drama about who should be part of the growout and it would be better if we just proceeded with the growout and when it would be time to cut the pieces he would just give me his share of the chalices but him not being responsive really worries me. i am not saying that he is a bad guy or anything as in such but i need to know what will happen now that he as gone completely dark
 
no offence to anyone and just hypothetically speaking. suppose someone was in a pinch and they knew they were publically a member of a grow-out. they could easily sell that membership to several people saying not to say anything to anyone because there is a bunch of drama about the group. Especially if they were perceived as a relatively respected vendor/community member. If Gus was legitamately trying to remove himself from the grow out we should have had the option to buy him out first. I would have bought his share to spee this up. I am not comfortable with simply giving his spot away to someone who says they bough it. I'm really sorry Salman, but this is an issue between you and Gus. I hope Gus just comes in here and puts this all to rest, but I still hold firm that (IMHO and with deference to the majority) any changing hands of spots should be approved by the rest of the group and we should have first right of purchase from any departing member. This is a group investment and should be treated as such. If the other members would like to "like" this post as confirmation or continue the discussion, that would be great. I really hope you figure this out positively for you Salman and I really hope there is a simple explanation for everything.
 
I paid him when the growout started. That was clearly before any of his led business hit the fan. I paid him cash at midwest coral farm. I was just getting into the hobby and figured well he is pretty well known on chicago reefs and everyone is very frindly and helpful. I never planned for how things went down.
