Eric's Reef

Nice growth on those bad boys. Do the blue cloves cause any problems?

Thanks! The blue cloves recede away from the corals as the corals encrust. Unlike zoas, they don't overtake the coral. What I noticed is that when I need to scrub some off to place a new coral the sps polyps close and the lps react badly. this leads me to believe there is some chemical warfare going on even when I don't remove or damage any of the blue cloves. I keep the carbon fresh.

Nice tank, although sorry you have one of the reefing worlds STDs, I mean cloves. :D

Yes, they spread like crazy. i eventually had to give up the battle because they released irritants when I'd scrub the new growth off with a brush.

You have an awesome tank Eric! When I went from the first fts to your more recent fts I was blown away!

Yeah, I'm still fooling around with some things and should probably get another fts up because I've changed a few things around. I'm adding a Melanurus Wrasse tonight. Fresh out of QT at Reefwise :thumb:

Well, I finally did it. I removed my really big Hammer and replaced it with some tonga for more acro's. I actually thought I'd miss it but considering I can get at least a half dozen sticks in its place...;)
