Jrpark22000 Nem tank

Tank plumbing is done, shelf is mostly done and rock V3.2 or so. I'll get a top down of the rock once I get it tweaked, there are many nem foot holes.

Still need to finish rock work, add one more shelf support, mount AI, tweak flow and anything else I'm forgetting.

Looking good dood! I forgot how much I love BTAs until I got a few for my clowns last week. Can't wait to see it all set up.

The shelf was more than strong enough without the added wood brace, but piece of mind was worth the effort. It still needs more stain, then tung oil. The light and AI controller are mounted but it still need some paint. PAR is 250 at the rocks directly under the light, 100 par at both ends of the tank. All the tank flow is done with the returns, about 600gph. The locline valves limit the amount at the surface forcing most of the flow out of the 4 angled nozzles.

Added 4 medium banded trochus, a scarlett hermit and the CB shrimp from the pico. Other than some painting, tung oil and tweaking, it's ready for the nem! A few weeks it'll be healed and I get to pickup.

Little update, many more trochus snails were added to hasten the end of the new tank bacteria bloom. Coralline is now taking a good hold. Several more weeks until the first nem split is ready.

Good timing, I'm planning on do a full photo shoot this weekend for the yearly anniversary. In the mean time, the 3 nems are fat dumb and happy. Picked up a nem crab for the BTA and adding a super-feeder to the tank in preparation for the transfer of the 2 clowns into this tank. I'm hoping to pick up the next BTA in the next couple weeks.

The only problem with the tank is bubble algea! It's been driving me nuts over the last several months. Something in my DT must be eating it as there is always so little in it. The same animal is not in the Nem tank so there are bubbles everywhere. I've tried crabs without success. I end up resorting to putting a filter sock on the drain and plucking them off the rocks with a pick.

On a side note, the flow in the tank is great with just the two returns. No power heads are needed to keep everything stirred up and the animals happy.

I did switch around the order of the loc-line from the first photos. I'll get a photo in the update. The nozzles and flat fans switched positions with the valves moved after the nozzles. This allows for full flow out of the nozzles but control of how much flow comes from the fans.

To quiet down the glassholes I also made some custom baffles to slow the fall of the water. Will take pics of this too.
