Jrpark22000 Nem tank

Very nice . Let us know what works best for you on the bubble algae. That stuff clogs my wave maker on one of my tanks.

First step is manual removal, which takes places monthly... argh. Second about two weeks ago I added a pencil urchin and it is mowing a path thru the stuff nightly. As there is no coral in the tank I took the chance with it. This friday I've got two rock boring urchins arriving from reefcleaners. They've got a better reputation than the pencil urchin for BA. I'll keep the thread updated with results.

:woohoo: The blood red mini carpet nem has split. Picked it up in very early February and it's already split without supplemental feedings! The smaller of the splits is hiding in the rocks so hopefully in a few days it'll come out for a photo.

I need some nems ... :)

I am an INFIDEL...

You're on the list Mai :D lunacris is first in line for the blood mini, but you're first in line for the gonzo. Too bad the mxi-minis won't split on their own...

No blood mini for me..they keep moving and I lost mine...but gonzo for me...since all softies move to 120 gallon tank so need lot of nem..
Also looking for red or blue carpet :)

wow, sorry to hear. The blood mini has never moved for me and appears happy. I have one rock nem and one other BTA that will not stop moving. They will hide under a rock and a couple days later be on the other side of the tank. The gonzo moved up into a high flow spot and seems to like it. All the other rock nems and maxi-mini haven't moved and are always fully open. Once a week or so they all get a mouth full of mysis.

Can't wait to see pics of your tank with a large carpet. They are soo cool, but far too big for my tank.

WTF, I go to feed the nem tank a few minutes ago... the smaller of the bali blood nem splits just split. Each new split is about 1" across. Both of the previous splits have grown significantly since, but I didn't expect to find this.

gg1111 only need to give it a couple weeks for one to put on some size :D

Hey bud! How is the nem tank doing?

Like a champ! The BTA I got from you is verging on huge. Picked up another BTA a week or so ago and it's also doing well. The mini carpets started getting shadded out by the maxi-minis and bta, so it's been on the move for a couple weeks, been pretty hard keeping an eye on it to keep it feed.

I'm ordering 3 more rock urchins from reefcleaners when they get back in stock to keep the bubble algea in control. After my next BA removal session I can get some photos posted.

How's the mini carpet doing for you?
