mlreef 450 gallon mixed reef build

Thanks for all the compliments and positive feedback! I will post some more pictures later today when the plumbing is all done and water is in it. I'll see if I can post some video. I have never done the video part before, so if someone knows how to do it, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Take video and upload to Youtube or Photobucket and just copy the link. Same way as pictures basically.

I dont see any mounts for it, were you still gona put in that walking board?

I had to cut that out of the equation because of the way the cabinetry wraps around the steel stand, It could have bee done but I would have had to make the stand another 4"-6" taller, which means that would have been a full 48" tall steel stand and a 52" tall wrapped cabinetry and that would have looked a little bit too tall for my likings. I feel that I'm pushing the envelope with a full 46" wrapped cabinet. Not to mention that all of my plumbing would have to come down another 6" to clear the walking board.

How do you do all the PVC cement without a drop of primer showing anywhere?

Clear pvc primer, I would ask Joshua from Aquariums Done Wright.

That sucks you had to cut it out because it looks like it's going be a little harder to do maintenance and to place corals in there.

or you could just get a pair of these http://www.discounttommy.com/images/Product/large/255_1_.jpg

adjustable from 24 to 40 inches

Those look sweet as hell! It reminds me of dry-walling my parents family room before the house burned down to the ground.

Ya I used to use them dry walling and some painting jobs where I would just walk around trimming in by the ceiling.

I think that I'm going to get some of those red arrows that I can stick on the PVC to show the directional flow of the water... What do you guys think???

The reeflo hammerhead leaked, I need to give them a call today and find out what the hell happened. A brand new $400+ pump leaks...

I just got off the phone with Chris from Reeflo, they are sending me out a couple of things to fix the leaking problem. He stated that some of the units that were produced earlier this year had some quality control issues and that mine is one of them judging from the serial number. So in the next day or two I should have a brand new gasket set and set of new seals. He also said if that doesn't fix it that I will have to return it to him and he will send out a new one. Anyway I was really happy to get a live person on the phone that was able to help me asap.

Really great looking plumb job and the OM CL looks real clean too! If one leak was all you had I would consider that a huge success! Even though it was the most important part :-/
