WOW, thats alot salt!!!! :adore:

Did you have to double up the supports for your floor to handle the weight of the salt and sand?

LOL!, No. That section of our home is on a slab and leads out to the garage. Even though the sand and salt weighs 1086 Lbs. it should be more than fine!

Who moved all the salt..Jack's a little young to help!

Jack helped by directing and telling me where to put the salt. On a side note, we have a couple of those little LED flash lights and he was so excited by the fact that he was shinning it in our somewhat dimly light garage as I was unloading it. You should have seen his little face.

Now you know what to get him for his birthday. He was well behaved when you guys were over, actually better than some of my adult friends!
Enjoy him at this age, before long he'll be letting you know how much you DON't know!!

I'm just really happy that Jack and I have our special bond when feeding the fish. He absolutely loves it and gets so super excited. It is his most favorite thing to do in the world. You should see his face when his little hand holds the nori sheet and the fish are eating right out of his little hand. It's like he is on top of the world.

Well, the joists are finally finished thanks to the help from my very loving and supportive wife and my great friend Brett.

I still can't believe that a simple hole in the ceiling turned into this amazing feat of structural engineering. What you're looking at is 3 honest weekends worth of work for 8 hours each day.

Everything is in and level. I will be hanging a fishing line and weight dead center of the 3 joists to watch / detect and joist vertical movement. I plan on watching it for at least 3 months with the tank filled before I close back up the ceiling.

The aquarium will hopefully be ready for its maiden "filling" in about 2 weeks...

I will keep you all updated as things unfold.

that's good stuff getting rolling now won't be long can't wait to see it with live stock instead of people lol

So much work.....But I am confused what is the extra support for I was under the impression that your tank was going in the basement? I guess I was incorrect.

good job buddy

Thanks it definitely took a while but will totally be worth it in the upcoming weeks!

Awesome, that's not going anyways. Looking forward to seeing it filled!

I should hopefully have the tank filled up in the next two weeks or so. My RODI supposedly does 75GPD, but it's more like 35-40 gallons a day. So it may take 2 weeks just to get the water to fill it up.

I will definitely post some pictures as I'm filling it.
