mlreef 450 gallon mixed reef build

Looks like I will be going with 2 mag 18's for return pumps. This should be ideal according to fishbeard and my skimmer pump rate. Thanks guys and gals!

Closed loop question...

Should I go with the Reeflo Hammerhead Hybrid Pump or the Reeflo Dart/Snapper Hybrid?

I have a 2" drain basket and 2 x 1.5" returns... Hope this helps.

Any pros or cons to either one of these pumps? I'm looking for something with enough power and yet quiet.

Thanks

I would like to run either one of these pumps wide open to create the needed circulation flow throughout the entire tank.

Any suggestions?

Freaking awesome

Thanks, I really appreciate your enthusiasm for the Camaro!

With the help from Gus, and some web research I'm pretty sure that I will be ordering a Reeflo hammerhead hybrid pump for the closed loop system,it gives me the options I need for further expanding my closed loop system.

I should have some new updates soon.

For the closed loop system I'm planning on going with 1 drain and 4 returns. Let me know what you guys and gals think.

Should I add closed loop to the back of the tank or just keep them on the bottom?

I'm totally open to suggestions and ideas.

Thanks!

Maybe 2 drains in case one gets plogged up

Here is the picture of the intake basket.

simply amazing! the tank, sump and the car

Thanks for the kind words! I need all of the encouragement and support I can get!

My wife and I are expecting our second child in about 6 weeks, this might slow down the tanks progress. I will continue working on it and providing all of you the details of the build.

Thanks a million all of you!

Here are some pictures of the rock I picked up yesterday.

Wow, I'm jealous! i just added some tonga in my tank yesterday and love it. i only wish I had done my whole tank, or most of it, in tonga :)

I'm going to try and do some really unique aquascaping with the tonga branch. I figured that this would give the tank a very interesting look especially when the SPS take off. I also wanted there to be a lot of flow in the tank and the tonga branch allowed me to have it. I will post some more pictures hopefully later tonight.

Gus your help will be greatly appreciated!
