My "Tanked" Tank

I forgot to ask--can you tell me what this is? I have never had a fish with a disease so I apologize for not recognizing it...

Ok, that's good...i know how your damsel is very aggressive, so that's why I asked. :)
Maybe try placing her in your sump to see how she does.

The area seems larger today and she doesn't appear to be eating. Anyone have a guess what it is? My hospital tank is not cycled and I don't have any place to put her to treat this.

water params? I think it looks like physical damage though.

Agreed, it looks like physical damage, has this fish jumped out of the tank recently? It looks like it could be damage from hitting a straight rough surface from the fall. Kinda like the scuffs I get sometime working in my stand and running my arm along a rough edge of wood not paying attention. Being black and white doesn't help any to hide that damage, an orange clown it wouldn't be quite as noticeable. Poor fish, I hope it gets better, good luck!

It might be getting bigger because it's getting infected. You might need to give it antibiotics in a hospital tant, it doesnt have to be cycled if you place a large piece of your liverock in it for instant cycle.

She hangs around the cave a lot. Her and the ocellaris were, what looked like, banging each other right there and she could have scraped it against the edge. My rocks are kind of scratchy.

It appears to be a cottony coating on the fish. Seems to be symptoms of being victim to trauma. Water parameters;

I don't have ph meter, only diptsticks

ph >8.3
sal 1.025
phos .5
nitrate 0
kh 17dkh

so ph is low phosphate and hardness up a little.

I took her out and put her in hospital tank. Someone said to go ahead and do it. When I had her under sun/daylight, I could plainly see this is a red mark, kinda looked like a scratch or cut in the flesh. Antibiotics are on the way.

Good luck with her treatment...i wish her the best. :)
As long as she's still eating and moving around, she should heal up.

She passed away during the night. The wound seems bigger so I guess it was infected. Makes me think twice about getting expensive fish since it is always the expensive ones that die first while the cheap crap stays around forever.
