My "Tanked" Tank

I should have said something first. He's in the big tank and I doubt you can catch him. He's 2 1/2 years old. When the heck is he going to kick the bucket? My boyfriend couldn't stand the plastic plants I had in there for color. I took them out and added some bright blue damsels from Global. Don't care what people think about that store, you can't do better than $3 starter fish....

Yeah, he'll never be caught out of there...your tank looks great. It's gonna be a masterpiece once you get it set up the way you want it. Good job.

Checkwiththe experts but i think you can save your supplements until you have more stuff in the tank that needs it. Looking really good.

Thanks fellas. I'm already getting the question "is it worth it?"

I haven't answered it yet.

If I was as experienced as the lot of you, the answer would be yes.......

At least I can state, with the way the mayor of Chicago is effing the police department left and right, I will be unable to retire for quite a while and I'll be around to get my money's worth out of it anyway...

Got a nice rainbow nem last night and it opened up a few inches minutes after I put it in tank. Overnight though, it moved into a makeshift 'cave' I made with several rocks. It was only 5 or 6 inches away.

I can't see it so I'm not happy but it's not about me and it will move to where ever it is happy.

But I wanted to see it so I took the top rock off and lifted it up a bit to look at it and the Domino Damsel bit the back of my hand. How I hate that guy.....

Even putting the corals that Smitty gave me in the tank, he swam right up to me and I know what was coming and I able to brush him off---every few seconds.

How I hate that guy. Should have flushed him when I had the chance.....

i started wearing gloves when I do anything for long in my tank and it really has done wonders for me. Funny that my female clown would bite the crap out of me and now she completely ignores my giant red and blue super hero gloves. They know, but they are only doing what they do. . .

Worth every penny and keeps my hands from constantly having weird patches of dry skin.

i like these, but have no dexterity. usually only put them on when im going into bristleworm territory

Would you really flush a fish???

No, but that is the only threat to him I can make. That cave is 1000% undeniably his. He (or she) made that crystal clear this morning. He was all over me again when I wanted to check on nem. I think I had better get gloves because I can't concentrate on what I'm doing. I know he doesn't have teeth but I don't like it anyway and I have to worry about him every time I go in there.

I much rather him bully me than anyone else. I haven't seen him go after anyone since the nem crawled into the cave.

The saltwater makes my hand soft. I never have dexterity with gloves, ever, any gloves because my hands are small and none ever fit. But I have no exact placement work to do anyway. I can't keep worrying about that freaking damsel though so I guess I better get them.

Just keep a close eye on the nem u dnt want him to all up and die behind the rock.... do u mind if i ask what kind of lighting do u have and what do u use for flow and how long did u acclimate ur nem for?

Acclimated for a couple hours drip method. Running par 38s. I'll check on him again before I leave today. I'm thinking I should pull him out of the cave.

I'm thinking you should leave it alone! It will come out on it's own when its happy and adjusted to your tank.

I would leave it. It will find a spot and move on its own. If u move it, it may stress. It moved a bunch on me until it found its spot.

Roger that. He attached himself to a rock that makes up the back wall. I moved a small rock that makes up the back of the cave so he can get some light. I can't do anything else, the domino damsel will not stand it. That cave is his.
