Its coming together man. looking great. keep up the good work. That Niger trigger do not give u any problem? i used to have 1 a while back, been in the tank for 8 good yrs until he decided to mow the tips of my acros. Good thing he was a puppy dog I could hold him w/o a problem, grab him w/ my bare hand w/o a problem. I felt so bad to see him go such a nice fish.

Thanks, I've got a tip clipper in my tank, but it's only on certain pieces. I suspect the culprit is my emperor angel. I like fish as much as coral, so I probably won't get rid of anyone as long as they aren't decimating my tank. The biggest problem with the Niger is that he's a hand biter and draws blood too. Sometimes he just takes a nibble of my forearm skin but sometimes he really sinks his fangs into my hand. I've had him for about 7-8 years and I've had the Picasso for about 12 years.

that guy looks lovely
lol i like how you call it clipper and not nipper haha

This is what i want my tank to be...simply amazing! And not one spec of algae anywhere! Nice job on this tank! I would definitely take some frags if you sell any. What do you do for nutrient export?

Thanks for the compliment. I do get algae, but I'm all over it with my scraper. I do feed heavy but I feed clean (mostly Spectrum pellets, nori, and krill). I feed a little reef chili now and then and acropower every other day or so.

For export, I do a lot.....I vacuum my gravel almost weekly. I use filter socks changed twice a week or so. I use biopellets with the reactor plumbed directly into my fairly large skimmer. I use gfo. Most importantly, I use a lot of elbow grease to keep algae (coralline and otherwise) off of the glass. I'm also ocd about keeping any foreign object off the sand bed.

I'll have some frags down the road.

And some more. Just growing this frag city out!

BC Sky Dopple. This photo looks like it is just a bad picture, but the coral actually looks about like this, maybe a little more powdery blue. The fluorescent yellow is definitely there. Excited for this one to grow out.

Reefdweller's Ultimate Tricolor. Encrusting nicely. Good color so far.

BC Soda Pop Granny. This was a brown nub until recently. Starting to show some color.

Vivid's Rainbow. I had a really nicely colored piece for this before my aefw loss. It took forever to color up but became beautiful. This on just recently started to transition. I bet in one month, it will be all white and purple.

BC Xmas Acro. I like the iridescent yellow on this one. It grew quickly when I first got it but had a couple months of no growth. It's lookign better again an encrusting quite a bit.

BC Hellraiser. This is probably mounted too low in my tank, but is showing some signs of color. It almost bleached completely when I first got it.

Copp's Efflo from Menard. Looking good so far.

BC Gary's Yellow. More like Gary's green!

I'm sure this was asked may times , what are you using for the great looking pics

Tom

I use a LUMIX GF3 with a telephoto lens and extension tubes to get the macro shots. If the photos don't look true to how they look to my eye, I tweak them in Microsoft photo. I have Lightroom, but it's more trouble than it's worth. No need to get fancy. I use a home made top-down viewer for top-downs. Most importantly, just turn down blue LEDs before shooting.

Thanks for the compliment.

A few more. I'm bored. I let my biopellets dwindle down a few months ago and and just didn't change my GFO. About a month ago, my corals weren't coloring up and I was getting some strange algae, which I thought was dinos. I topped off my biopellets and changed out my GFO. About two weeks later, my algae was gone and my acros are looking better.

BC Hyperberry. Beat up, but colored up!

JF Cooler's Champagne. This has been a fast grower.
View attachment 11209

BC Therman's Rainbow. This will be beautiful one day, but for now, it's a nub that has encrusted a lot!

Red Something or Other. I don't know what this is, but I would not doubt if it is my favorite coral some day. It shifted from white to brown to maroon, and now it is turning red with a green base on the new growth. Red polyps, although rarely out in my tank.

Sunny X Sunset. Sunny is the dude from ProCorals. This has been around for a long time. Awesome color.....I get terrible PE!

Ultimate Miyagi. I love this coral and it grows pretty well in my tank.
View attachment 11213

BC June Ruby. I cannot get this to color up like is was in Adam's tank. Good growth so far and always has decent PE.

Shades of fall. Nothing to say really.
View attachment 11215

BC Rainbow Rosaria. I like this coral quite a bit. Good grower, decent PE, and good coloration.

BC Blueberry Fields Austera. This may be the fastest grower in my tank. It rivals my birdsnests. Too bad it is also my Emperor's favorite coral to practice his hedge trimming on. This was really brown for a few months and I thought about moving it from front and center. I'm glad I didn't now that it's coloring up.
