Looking great !
How is that humu humu trigger behaving for you? Does it bite?

Thanks dudes. Things have been growing well lately. I've had the Humu for 13 years. He's actually really good. The Niger is the biter, but neither harm the corals, just my knuckles.

Just got home from a 10 day vacation out of the country. Just had my neighbor who knows nothing about aquariums feed my fish twice. I walked in tonight to a slightly dirty tank with happy fish and corals. I think my Vivid's rainbow doubled in size!

Before I left, I filled my 45 gallon brute with kalkwasser top off water and only had about four gallons left when I got home to night. I bought a $60 web cam (Foscam) before I left and that was some of the best money I have ever spent. I was able to make sure my pumps were running, my top off was topping off correctly, my lights were working, my skimmer wasn't overflowing, and my animals were alive.

Thanks to Jayjerk for agreeing to be on call if I did run into a disaster while out of the country.

It was hard work too..phew...Welcome home man. Hope u had a blast

Thanks man. You can relax now. I had a great time (in Belize). Did some snorkeling and the reef was surprisingly healthy. Swam with a ton of big nurse sharks and rays. Also drank about 100 beers and 5 gallons of rum, sometimes while driving a golf cart through a jungle at night.

I liked Belize as well. Wife n I had a blast

where exactly in Belize did you guys go???? My wife and I are looking for a place to go this year for our wedding anniversary. Never been to Belize and would like some recommendations.

We rented a house a few miles north of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. It was cool to be outside of town, but the only way to get around is by golf cart. I wouldn't say San Pedro was necessarily a nice place for an anniversary. The beaches aren't really that swim able and are kind of dirty. You have to go with a guide to snorkel/scuba. Nothing off shore to swim to. Caye Caulker was cool and laid back, but there aren't many nice places to stay there. Mostly backpacker place/ hostel types. Lots of Euros there a younger party vibe. Less families.

We were just a little disappointed because we basically hated the house we rented. Otherwise, it was all good. I think I preferred Nicaragua (Little Corn Island or San Jaun Del Sur) over Belize. I think I liked the San Blas Islands off of Panama better too.

You know your in for a serious day of reefing when you put on a sleeveless shirt in January. Some of my epoxy welds on one of my rock piles broke so I have to restabilize it. I'll do some minor rescaping and could even make room for a new frag or two. Here we go!

I envision a frag pack for sale later after I unintentionally break some stuff.

pending sale LOL, you always have good stuff

Thanks. Yes, I have been on pellets for over two years. I wouldn't do it any other way, at least with a tank with big fish like mine. I run about 1/3 of the recommended amount.

I recently pulled out my biopellets after adding an algae scrubber

My train of thought was -- f*** these biopellets may not be doing.. Or may he just taking care of nitrates hence causing a njtrate phosphate imbalance and hence this horrible film algae issue i cant get rid of .. Cause both skimmer and biopellets work on nitrates only and nitrate phosphate imbalance does cAuse algae issues ..

Ofcourse that green algae is green cyano and not green algae which i realized after chemiclean wiped it clean in a day ..

Now i wonder if i did a big mistake getting rid of biopellets ..hmmmm
