Sawdonkey's 220 Thread

After a few months of looking for a mystery wrasse, overpaying big time for one, major shipping issues that included my fish sitting in a ups warehouse for over three days, QT'ing this fish and doing tank transfer every 72 hours...............he's finally in my display, but still in his safety box while my other jerks get used to seeing him. 3-4 days in here and he'll be free.

First, I'm pretty sure the mystery wrasse is dead. My six line, lemon peel, and Picasso trigger were all taking turns chasing him around. I haven't seen him for a few days and I assume he's dead.

Amazing Pictures as always. Sorry to hear about the mystery wrasse :( I was just thinking about that today, was going to ask you how it was doing.
 
Always amazing pics , just can't believe the growth and progression on this tank from over a year ago. This tank is a inspiration to us all .

Thanks for the kind words dudes! I took a bunch of photos last night so I'll upload another round tonight.

As it stands right now, I'm at work and ComEd has the power shut of for multiple city blocks. I have a battery air pump bubbling, but I'm still worried. My tank is in the basement, so temp shouldn't be too much of an issue. My girlfriend will be home around noon and will report if the power is back on. Wish me luck!

Amazing tank man!!!! How long has it been up and running? I can not wait to get to your level on growth and colors keep up the hard work.

Thanks. I've had tanks going since 1999. Not a day without a tank since then. However, I was all FOWLR until 2012. Jumped right into SPS and had some pretty good success until AEFW in late 2013. Lost every acro, but restocked in early 2014 and have just been maintaining since.
 
Did a water change today and my return pump would not start up. Luckily I had a brand new one laying around. I use a Jaebo DC12000 and had never cleaned it I nearly two years. We'll have to see if it works when cleaned up.
 
Other than the pump not going back on today, it sounds like you like it, due at least partially to 2 yrs of maintenance free operation. What else pro and con have you experienced with the Pump?

Well, it might have just gotten so dirty that it stopped working. I cleaned it, but haven't tested it yet because I just threw the new one in the sump. Two heater and two return pumps is something I always like to have on hand, so I'll test it soon. It was SUPER dirty on the magnet of the impeller.

You said it. Two years without touching it is a good run. I also like the slow startup and the fact that it is virtually silent. Plus, @ < $90, you can't really go wrong.
