Spartanman22's 80 DB

Centropyges aren't ones to school; however they can be kept in pairs or in trios in some cases. These three were collected as a trio.

Stopped in the office today to try and feed the multibars. I gave them a fresh clam that they showed a bit of interest, but none of them are it. However I did get the largest Multibar to eat garlic soaked spirulina brine.

He was just mouthing it at first, but eventually started eating it. I think the smaller too are too stressed out to eat. The larger is definitely displaying some aggression towards the smaller two.

I'm toying with the idea of switching over to all Aquaforest products. I've been using Reef Crystals forever and BRS two part. Things are working well, but I've read good things about the Aquaforest line and am considering giving it a try. Anyone have any insight?

That's a good news that he is sampling food ! Hopefully you can get them to eat soon :)

So I get a $350-400 spending allowance as a one year anniversary gift from my wife. Long story short she wants to change her wedding band so the agreement was that I get the equivalent (about $600 after trade in). So first on the list is a gas grill.

Now to decide if I want coral or some fish! Thinking of either a TCK pack or a flame wrasse pair and rhomboid.

Coral coral coral coral coral

do remember TCK pics are the perfect system based pics .. those colors never seemed to exist in fellow reefers tanks on r2r ..

if me id rather get some hotties from Rmf.. their pieces seems to hold better colors ..

Thanks for the advice Tin! The only real piece I'm after from TCK is the pikachu so maybe I'll just get that one. I do like battle corals as well...but I am running out of room for coral so I may have to go with some fish.

I'm saving the last few good spots for a couple choice pieces.

lol irony .. tck pikachu is also the one thats on my mind when i said so about tck .. :) its all IMO though :)

Haha yes I expect those yellows to not be nearly as insane as pictured, but still if it's half as awesome I'd still be happy.

I think I'd like to get a JF Flame and SC Orange Passion first, but we'll see.

Ive got some wrasses and Angels on the list too. Tough choices ahead!

Or I could go another route and get the artfully acrylic lid...

Rhomboid are within 10 minutes of being in the tank. Hopefully he'll show my multibars how to eat!

I also finally got around to permanently installing my RODI. Just waiting on a float valve for the storage bin.

Good luck, I put anthias with mine , hopeful they do the same, but no luck. Today I am letting them in DT. They look very healthy , no spots or anything for 3 weeks, so I am taking chance. Hopefully they can learn with time, unless they go after my sun corals then they will get kicked out.

I think if you've had them three weeks and seen no signs of disease you should be pretty good. I'd expect the stress of shipping would bring out disease symptoms, if present, fairly soon after receiving them. Mine also look extremely healthy but unfortunately the DT has to remain fallow until August 1st.

Well, I think they had to eat, I just did not see it, right now they are in bucket, and they are extremely fat, I guess 3 weeks of no food they would lose some weight. It doesn't look like they are starving.

Sorry for posting in your thread, but what do you think?

They definitely don't look like they've been starving at all! They look nice a plump. I'm glad to hear they are working out well for you. I'm very anxious to get mine into the DT. Its very frustrating becasue this past weekend the largest multibar was eating some spirulina brine, but has shown no interest in anything since. I've seen the smallest multibar nibble at really tiny pieces of mysis, but hasn't eaten much of anything. The middle sized multibar will show interest but has yet to try anything. Why don't they understand its food!!!!
