Spartanman22's 80 DB

Thats a pretty fish, sorry if you already mentioned this but what is it called?

Yes the fish in the acclimation box is a juvi Potters Angel. The other fish photographed are a male Spotbreast Angel, Yellow Tang, multicolor Angel, valentini Puffer, and clowns.

what percentage are you running your OR T247s at ?

Right now they are at 55% blue and 30% white. I was ramping up 5% every week on each channel, but slowed down when I noticed some paler colors. In retrospect in think the paling was from too low of nutrient.

Filter socks, GFO, UV all just stripped my tank I think. I've since stopped using filter socks (mostly because I ran out). Hoping to see my wellso's and scolys rebound.

How long is your light period? I was running my ORs with the blues on for 11 hours and the whites on for 6 hours. I shortened that to 9 and 5 and I've seen a few corals get darker....in a good way.

I turned my intensity down to 75/50 too.

I currently have both channels set to come on at 10:00 am and off at 10:00 pm. I've been meaning to stagger the channels I just keep forgetting to. My plan is to do blues from 9-11 and whites 10-10.

10am to 10pm...seems really long.

Have you seen Ecotech_CoralLab? Worth a read~

I've had a 12 hour light period going for years now. Some of these corals have been under that schedule for 2-3 years. So far they don't seem to mind.

I have not seen that I'll give it a read.

In other news I found my Potters angel dead in my office tank this morning. No idea why, he never really ate well since moving him into that tank. I'll test nitrates today but ammonia was very low on my spectrophotometer yesterday.

I'm so pissed because I was so close to just leaving him in my SPS tank. He was eating well in there and seemed happy. I've blown so much money on fish this summer it's unbelievable.
