FishBeard's 180g Wall'o'Tank!

Looking good dood,i'm curious to see the rockwork.

Rock work was lookin good with all the stuff I got from lunacris. I intentionally built 3 separate structures taking up about 3/4 of the tank, so I could build a 4th structure from the rock in the 60. Well, long story short, the rock from the 60 is crap. Won't stack properly, is out of balance or something and just plain sucks. But at least everything has been moved over for the most part. I left one piece of rock that has a maxi-mini on it in the 60, along with my sand sifter star since there is nothing for it to sift in the new tank. So now I have 3 really cool stacks of rock, and one mediocre pile of rocks. I did relocate some of the nems that proved easy enough to peel off their rocks.

Now to buy some nice fish to fill it up. Looks awful empty with only 6 nano fish swimming around in there.

But I bet those nano fish feel like there in the Ocean now:)

Funny thing is they are all staying near the familiar rocks. Except the Midas, he high tailed it out to the far end of the tank and found a nice nook to set up in.

Where's the fts I wanna see.the aquascape

I like the rock, but I have one qualm. Either half individually looks amazing, but together, it's a bit confusing to look at. I don't know if the third stack is too centered or if it's the location of the stack of rock from the 60, but something is just slightly off...

I think that if you were to replace the frag cave with a real rock, the whole thing would mesh more. (my eye gets drawn to the frag cave)

Now that I think about it, other than that, this scape looks AWESOME and I do in fact love all of the full length trenches and overhangs for the fish to swim in and under.

Good luck finishing up the scape!

How many tanks do you have?

I just moved everything over from the 60 into the 180, and we have a 14g biocube in the bedroom. So technically 3 right now until the 60 is sold. And then I have several random standard glass tanks in the garage to use as needed on emergency or to hold DI water, etc...

@Funlad, it probably looks odd since you are getting one straight on front view. The rocks are scaped in a way to give swimmers a nice course of obstacles to go over, under, thru or around without having to double back.

I do agree something seems odd from the frontal FTS but really my only issue is still the stack on the far right, it's stacked as loosely as possible to allow smaller fish to have a safe cavern structure to hide in, but obviously I couldn't get it stacked as vertically as I was able to in the 60. Your also only looking at like 150# of rock in a 6x2 foot area. The 24" height was a challenge to fill vertically. It may just be easier to fill in the back glass with a few of those large magnetic shelf rocks to fill the empty spaces between structures.

Just a quick FTS update, the rockscape is really coming together for me now. The tank took on a whole new feel once I got the backdrop up on the back glass.
