That will b fine. That's what I have holding my LEDs. I bent the conduit and I had it powder coated black and it looks fine.
 
Herb, it should hold.. But can you still have that loop in the middle if you reinforce both sides into the stand? Also make sure you can adjust height if needed

Will be a nice DIY

I could put the conduit on both sides or even bend one piece to make the whole bracket, but I like it looking lighter and I like the idea of swinging it out of the way. You just made me remember that I have an old mic stand laying around somewhere. That would be a cool way to add height adjustment. . .
 
Loos good to me, don't think there can be to much box. I'm sure there could be not enough box lol. good job on the acrylic work. I'm having problems with mine not flowing enough through the teeth. Think about maybe doinga mega flow.
