Just curious why you didnt paint the wood inside or seal it just incase of spills

hey nice tank! how's your psychoberry doing? mine hasn't grown in months...

Thanks. Just got the Psychoberry a few weeks ago. It's pretty bleached out, and that happens to alot of new frags in my tank, but I'm seeing signs of color already. It will take a month or so before I know how it's really doing. Polyps are out on it, so it's surely not dead.

Mostly because I bought my tank, sump, and stand used and only had intentions to run a fowlr. I did seal the bottom with some clear sealant, but never really cared what the undercarriage looked like. Not long after I got the tank, I started to get interested in corals and therefore, had to buy more equipment and had more of a reason to keep things tidy. There are a lot of things I would do differently if I had the chance, and painting the inside sides of my stand is pretty far down the list. Some day, I'll move to a different house and I'll have the slickest, most well-thought out tank you've ever seen

OK, my on-again-off-again two week project is complete.

  • I tried to install gcfi outlets but they tripped too easily, so I took them out.
  • I completely cleaned up my electrical equipment. The amount of visible wires under my stand is less than 1/4 of what it used to be. I built a shelf under my stand that holds all of my power supplies and the front of it holds my new DJ Strip.
  • I ran all of my controller wires wires behind the plywood on the side of my stand and mounted the controllers to the end of the stand rather than on the side of my sump.
  • I mounted a OR T247 above the end of my sump so I can now grow out frags down there.
  • I cut a bunch of corals that were encroaching or shading other corals.
  • And of course, I cleaned the crap out of my DT.

I bought a piece of dry rock with hopes of putting it in my tank and buying a few more acros. I ended up chiseling the back of it so it would wrap my overflow. Well, I ended up moving around some acros that we're getting smothered, so I still don't have room for new stuff but I may have two spaces if anyone's got anything super sexy.

I've been getting quite a bit of condensation in my canopy and my LEDs have been getting moist. I thought I should remedy that so I bought this super slick fan. Only about $20 and variable speed. Now I have to cut my canopy and I surely don't have that in me today!
