Spartanman's cube

tank looks amazing man... I'm really jealous with all that growth and the crysta clear pictures

Thanks! Now if only I could get my SPS to stop stning I'd be a happy reefer! They are stning but still growing vertically quite well, and I'm going to have to chop up that toadstool soon or else it's going to take over.

Also are the pictures showing up rotated? They are on my app. The Samsung Galaxy is pretty good with pictures but I need to get me a DSLR!!

Thanks I appreciate it! I've always loved zoas and SPS and know I can have the best of both worlds! SPS display tank and zoanthids frag tank. I'm still working on the collection I strangle enough do not have any of the Hornets or Utters (used to but I have a crash to thank for that), but my real passion are people eater morphs I just can't get enough of them!

She likes the tank almost as much as I do

Well it appears I am jynxed when it comes to ice fire frags. The first one was doing well until I had the stn issues. Then I just got a second one and it got knocked over into my gig overnight

In other news, I'm going to be installing am ATS on my system. I have a fuge but it's entirely xenia. So, my intentions are to get the ATS going and permanently take down the GFO and GAC reactors

I'm considering going back to MH's on my display. The LEDs worked well but there just seemed to be that little extra missing. I currently have a 250 lumatek e-ballast so I'm just looking at reflectors. What would be the best option:

Hamilton Bali sun single ended mogul reflector with a radium 20k

Hamilton cayman sun with 14k phoenix

I like the Cayman sun more. It seems to have more reflectivity than the Bali sun. However, the Cayman sun is only in DE. I've always ran DE and Phoenix 14ks, but I've heard such incredible things about the radium that I want to try it.

With an 18×18" surface area is it safe to assume that any difference in reflectivity between the two is negligible?

Snapped some picks last night. Just got some fish in from Insane coral - thanks again guys! Unfortunately of the 6 ordered, 3 weren't shipped out, one was DOA, and another I believe became a snack for my Gig. But at least 1 made it! I'm hoping to pickup the 3 that weren't shipped whenever another order is placed.

The lone survivor

New acan from Insane Corals. I've been in the hobby for 7 years and this is my first acan ever! I'm already planning an acan garden

Not sure what this is but has a blue base and green polyps/tips. Looks cool so in the end that's all that really matters!

The frag tank is quickly turning into a zoa/paly collection/growout tank...
Let me know when you get ready to sell some. I'm looking to add different zoas to my collection. Awesome build bud. I love the rimless look. My next build will be a rimless for sure.

Just picked up a reefbrite hybrid pendant so now I get to make the impossible decision to either keep my leds running or switch back to halides! Such a tough choice!

In other news I'm on the hunt for an aggressive six line. Once caught he will be banished to the frag tank

Seems like you might stick with the LED's, but if you go MH, I would recommend the mogul fixture ALL DAY LONG. I've ran both the Phoenix 14k and the Radium 20k's and the Radiums are my preference ;)

I actually just picked up a reefbrite hybrid fixture with a radium bulb so I'm gonna give that a try for a little bit and then try to decide between LEDs and Halides.

I like the dimmability and cost of use of LEDs but still think halides just give a little something extra

I'm looking to replace my SCA 302 with a new skimmer. I'm currently looking at the Vertex Omega 130 or the Aquamaxx CO-1. Any other models I should be considering around those price ranges?

My system is a 25 gallon SPS dominant cube. Heavily stocked with small fishes, and a 12 gallon frag tank plumbed in. The sump is a 20L with roughly 12 gallons. So, in total there is probably 50 gallons total water.

I don't have any real complaints with it. Its worked well but I have the opportunity to pick up a new piece of equipment. My skimmer is really the only piece of equipment that could use upgrading. It's either going to be a new skimmer or another vortech.

As well as the SCA has worked you can certainly tell the difference between it and a quality skimmer in terms of build quality. The SCA is a budget skimmer and as a result the materials are more flimsy. I've broken a couple piece while cleaning it and had to repair.

Just got the reefbrite fixture mounted. It's running a 250 watt radium bulb. It's setup temporarily at the moment. I want to see how my corals respond and how I like the fixture before perminantly hanging it. I still haven't decided if I want to get rid of my leds yet.

I also got a nano flipper magnet glass cleaner for christmas and boy is it awesome! I had a piranha glass cleaner and like this way more!! (Please ignore that bit of cyano!!)
