The journey begins - Elos 120 XL

cool.....I noticed your Asian inspired artwork and the natural materials you have chosen for this room and the first thing that came to mind was the use of natural cork....
I'm not certain on how it would hold up with regards to the saltwater environment but just thought it played in nicely with your decor theme...maybe something to think about?

I don't know about cork, but you're right, this room has a natural, some Asian theme. Believe it or not, but i was thinking to fill those spaces on both sides of aquariums with sand and some river rocks and create small Zen garden.

Slow couple of weeks, right after holidays busy with work, last week my son got sick, had no time to work on my tank. Finally yesterday hooked up my RO/DI with new booster pump, it rocks ! Water is flowing, hoping to fill my tank by next weekend.
Also working on my manifold, return pump is Jebao DCT 1200, should be enough to feed DT, couple reactors and whatever I might need later.

I got my chloroquine phosphate last week, so my qt tank is going up ( 40 gal. breeder) , I want fish ready for DT as soon as it cycles, so will be getting fish next week or two and get them ready. I've been seeding couple of sponges in my little NPS nano to have instant filter for QT.

List of your livestock?

Plan too

Pair of Tinker's Butterfly , school of 5 Ventralis Anthias, school of 5 different deep water anthias ( TBD), 1 Sunburst ( fathead) anthia, I am also looking possibly to add a pair of multibar angels if I can get them in good condition and eating ( Reefwise comes to mind). That's is when it comes to fish, unless I get carried away and get more anthias :) . Corals mostly sun corals and dendros, NPS corgonians ( menella sp., Diodogorgia nodulifera sp., ), chilli coral, spiral gorgonian, will try carnation corals (Dendronephthya sp.,), silk flower tree coral ( Scleronephthya sp.).
I plan to set up automatic continuous feeding system composed out of mini fridge and dosing pumps as seen on this picture

This way corals and fish will have enough food throughout the day.

Always love the updates Mark.

Over time my booster pump head has developed a small drip. While I havn't tore into it yet, I'm aware of the head itself leaking. You may want to consider turnig the pump 180deg so the head points down incase a leak happens the motor doesn't get wet.

Thanks Josh, good to know. I will do that, btw what pressure did you run your RO/DI system ? I turned down to 80 psi reading about pumps leaking overtime just as you described, that's per aquatec customer service advice.

70-80psi depending on the time of year and temp of the water. It's a slow drip, maybe one drop every 5 seconds or so. Not bad enough to really worry about but enough to notice.

Finally some more updates, finished plumbing , did water test, everything works fine. Right now mixing salt , so water is bit cloudy. I soaked my rock for 3 weeks, very minimal phosphate reading, will finish cycling in DT. I need to install ATO, couple of reactors for GAC and GFO, still need to drill my 40 breeder which will turn in refugium. Sand will go in when salinity is correct in DT.

Some pictures of my set up.

Day off today, so I did some work finishing my stand. Still need to fill treat the wood to make it waterproof, but looking much better . Million dollar question , what look is better, rimless without canopy or with canopy ?
