I've had a few set backs along the way. The day after memorial day my mom's house burned down to the ground. That same week Friday my son was born. And that following Wednesday my grandma passed away. It's been really hard to find the time to get the build finished. I have my mom and sister living with me now. Priorities have changed a little bit even though I really want to get the build finally finished.

I think that I will finally buy the 165 gallon mixing tanks that I was looking at online.

Should I get 2 or 3 of them?

Congrats on the birth of your son and condolences on your loss. They say things happen in 3's, so hopefully you're done with major events for a while!

Regarding the mixing tanks, would these be used for rodi and mixed saltwater? If so, what would the 3rd one be for?

I would like to use the 3rd one for speeding up the process of mixing salt and use it for aging the water a little longer.

My issue is that my 75 GPD sytem only makes about 60 GPD. I need approximately 600 total gallons of water to run the system, at that rate it will take 10 days to produce enough water. If i have three containers I could have approximately 450 gallons read to go in about 2 weeks with 3 containers, vs approximately 300 gallons ready in about 2 weeks with 2 containers. With 3 containers it will take a total of about 17 days to completely fill, with 2 containers it will take approximately 29 days.
Let me know if that makes sense.

Oh, I see. Here's a thought. How much does the 165G resevior cost? If you were to buy a bigger 2nd RODI unit you could use 2 units to make water faster in the 2 reseviors and always sell the 75GPD one once the tank is filled. It would be a lot easier to sell a rodi unit then it would a 165G resevior that you would no longer need once the tank was filled. Plus your tank would be filled faster.

Very true.

Can you recommend a larger unit? Also how large would you go? I know that they make 300 GPD units.

Isn't there a upgrade peace for the BRS ro/di unit that could make it do later amounts?......or is this what your talking about

I believe that there is a pump that can purchase that will add approximately 20-30 more psi to the unit if you have low water pressure, but I don't think that it will do any more than the stated amount of GPD. I have also heard of the seals going bad on units that go that route using the pump. My water pressure is self regulated at my house at 60 psi and all filters are new.

I just need to be patient.

This is the craziest thing that I have done in a while but my mixing vats are finally here. I drove from Lombard to South Naperville with those two vats on my roof while people were starring at me wondering what in the hell is this guy doing.
