Spartanman's cube

My dad was able to score 4 sheets of 4'×4' 1/2" acrylic today so looks like I won't be upgrading to an 80 gallon deep blue but rather a 48"×24"×20" acrylic tank!

I plan on cutting and prepping the boards this weekend and probably won't assemble until next weekend, but I'm pretty excited!

Love this little guy!

Since my frag tank has really just turned into a zoa/paly collection tank, I've decided to replace the 18×18×8" frag tank with a deep blue 28 gallon I picked up from R33fswagger. I am going to move all softies to the new tank and keep all my SPS in the DT.

Today I removed all the xenia that I could from my DT. Yumm

My kessil has started to do this weird thing where it flickers on and off. I may have to replace it if it doesn't stop.

Anyways here are some update tank shots

Went to reefwise today to get a golden dwarf moray. I've always wanted one and heard they had some in stock, but of course when I get there they also happen to have a Potters angel pair my all time favorite fish. I haven't had one since my old 75 gallon 5 years ago. Man was that a tough choice, but ultimately the eels are harder to come by so that's what I went with!

Fed the new DGM for the first time and he chowed down on a piece of frozen octopus!

And just for fun a few last shots of the frag tank before it gets replaced with a deep blue 28. I'm going to do away with the frag tank concept and just make it a dedicated tank for my zoa collection and move over the few softies I have in my display. The display will then be strictly SPS.

I've started planning on upgrades for this cube system. I plan on adding the following:

Apex Gold
Apex AFS
Apex WXM
Apex ALD
Apex DOS
Vertex Omega 150
Vertex Vectra 150
Vertex RX-U 1.5 L × 2
Vertex 2.5L Tall dosing container × 2
Synergy SS-34 sump (red/white)
Synergy 5 gallon ATO

I was in the process of planning a 100 gallon upgrade but given the fact that I'll be moving twice within the next 3-5 years I decided to hold off. Instead I'll just beef up this system!

I originally wanted either the BK double cone 130 or Vertex Omega 130 with a strong preference for the BK, but there aren't Vectras for the 130 models and I think the BK 150 would be pushing it on a 75 gallon heavily stocked system. But I'm not sure what would you guys suggest? BK Double Cone 150 or Vertex Omega 150? Ideally it'd be either of the 130 models but I'm set on having a self cleaning head.

Walked into my living room and found my gig caught in my vortech. He had stretch out really big and got sucked in. A decent chunk of one of his sides got mangled pretty badly. I'm not sure if it'll pull through or not. I threw some carbon into my reactor to try and prevent losing anything else since the tank was a cloudy mess.
