U have tried two different matted file fish for apstasia control and both times the fish didn't make it past 48 hours. The first attempt was a small and pretty thin individual so I figured it was just unhealthy. But this recent addition was large and fat. Both individuals were very active the first day and ate, but we're found dead the morning of the second day.

I guess I'm just cursed to have apstasia in this tank.

^ same my peppermints always ate it. I havnt seen my peppermints in a long time (probably went on the water slide to the sump) so now I have 2 that have popped up
 
I got berghias from AP I put them in my frag tank to start there, but haven't noticed any reduction yet. I can't keep shrimp in the DT because my flame hawk will eat them.

I've tried injecting with boiling water, but they always popped right back. I'll give vinegar a try though.

You sure about the hawk? I've always been fine, just get decent sized shrimp and introduce with lights off. I currently have 3 peppermint with a flame hawk and melanarus wrasse.

Ya I just tried 3 peppermints a couple weeks ago and they didn't make it through the night. I haven't been able to keep shrimp since introducing him

That sucks, he must be hungry ;)

Mine hide all day and come out at night - otherwise the melanarus would destroy them. I made the mistake of adding a fire shrimp during the day once, and it didn't even make it to the rock. I should have just lit a $50 bill on fire instead.

I've felt the same way far too many times. It'd be less heartbreaking to just burn the money than to find dead fish, Coral, eaten inverts, etc.

My $5 Black Friday frags already seem to be coloring up. They've gone from brown to slightly less brown

In preparation for an upcoming 2 week vacation I just bought a Foscam F9821. Hopefully it is simple enough to figure out since I'm computer illiterate. It was a nightmare figuring out port forwarding with my RKE net.

Woke up this morning to a peculiar water noise. Turns out a snail climbed down the stand pipe on my frag tank and cause a reduction in flow allowing the display to overfill. Needless to say I woke up very quickly this morning. Fortunately I think it happened right before waking up since there was very little water on the floor.

I got the snail out and fired it back up, but flow seemed slow and it was surging which seemed weird. So I just shut-off flow to the frag tank and threw in a heater until I have more time to mess with it tonight.

I had been meaning to block that drain with eggcrate. Well now I've learned my lesson and won't put it off any longer.

Wow man that sucks. Glad you caught it quickly. I may have one of the cone strainers. I'll look around today and if you want it you can grab it from work tonight

I had a smilier issue with a ATO switch and a snail getting stuck. RODI water started over flowing the dt...

Oh man that's even worse! Fortunately I caught it very quickly and hardly any damage done.

Thanks I appreciate it. I'll just throw some eggcrate on the drain, that should be more than enough to keep them out.
