Spartanman's cube

Beautiful Potters!

Centropyge are generally not accepting of other Centropyge, nor other fish shaped like them. Some folks have been able to mix them, but they typically have large tanks that allow them to avoid interaction.

Good luck!

Thanks! I love centropyges and am going to push the boundaries a bit in the 80 gallon. I'm planning on three. The Potters, Golden, and a Multicolor. I've had success with multiple centropyges in 60 and 75 gallon reefs in the past.

Wow those fish are so awesome I wish I had the guts to put them in my reef! I had a flame angel before and it just really wasn't working out he was nipping at everything lps and sps so I had to get rid of him. Good luck with your angels though!

Thanks! I've never had the flame before. I've kept Potters, cherub, Coral Beauty, and now a Golden successfully in a reef with no noticeable nipping.

I've tried a lemon peel, Knox, and Multibar that were quite destructive to coral polyps.

They really are hit or miss, but I will say this I've had 3 Potters angels in my reefing career and all 3 have been very good in a mixed reef setting.

I've been playing musical tanks with my Golden angel. I moved the swallowtail to the frag tank and my small Potters to the DT hoping that the Potters and Golden would get along better. Despite the Golden being larger, he was still being pushed around by the Potters. For how small he is the Potters sure has some spunk! So, last night I moved the Golden to the Frag tank and the swallowtail back to the DT. Hopefully I'll go home to a somewhat peaceful system. Otherwise I'll have to get rid of the swallowtail and just keep the Golden and Potters separate.

I'm really hoping any aggression disappears when they all move to an 80 gallon. But I'm thinking the Goldens timid nature naturally makes him more of a target for aggression.

This ones a beauty he has been pretty active when he's not being bullied and he eats really well! I got him from Reefwise. They had him for over a month and had him eating well beforehand. So far I haven't seen any signs of nipping. But then again he has been under some stress. So now that he's in a tank by himself we'll see how he does with coral.

very nice! I like that last one with blue polyps. Growth pattern on that is strange, I can't tell what it is.

ASD called it a Blue Iris Monti. I've never seen it before. They had a few of them and it looks to be more of a branching Monti than encrusting or plating.

I did, I've been going through weekly dips. I have about a dozen acros that made it through the process but they're now aefw free and doing really well. Display didn't have any acros in it for about 6 weeks.

Ya I pulled them all out and put them in my frag tank early January. I've been doing weekly dips ever since. The ones that survived are doing really well.

Last time I get lazy with my coral dipping...

I lost some acros during the Bayer dipping but I attribute that to the stress and the fact I was dipping repeatedly and in some cases twice a week.
