Spartanman's cube

Well my speedwave dc pump just died so I'm off to Beyond the reef to buy a temp pump. I'm going to order the jaebo dc 6000 as a permanent replacement and have it overnighted. Definitely not what I wanted to come home to

The T5 bulbs? To be honest I can't remember. All I remember is that it was a bit tough finding bulbs that short. There weren't many options with top brands like ATI or geismann. But they're just actinic supplementary bulbs so I didn't care much. My preferred halide to run in the DE style is the Phoenix 14k, perfect amount of blue and good growth

Well it's been quite a while since I've tested my parameters, but lately I've noticed coral growth to have slowed down. So I checked calcium and alk, and I found my alk at 7.3 and my calcium at 300. No wonder they weren't growing! I need to be more diligent about monitoring my parameters at least once a week

FTS Update!

Everything has been doing really well lately. I removed a C. cyanopleura and things seem to have settled down in the DT. Somehow the multibar angel is still going strong. I've yet to see him eat yet nor pick at coral, but he must be eating something. My frag tank zoas finally seem to be happy again too. They all went through a period where they weren't looking too hot.

I'm really hoping to score a bleeding apple or war paint scoly at the frag swap next weekend! I've been saving that open corner in the front right for one.

I currently have 6 in my 25. A pair of clowns, 1 Bangai cardinal, a small black leopard, small yellow coris wrasse, and multibar angel. I'd like to get rid of the Bangai but he'll be a huge PITA to get out. He spends all his time in the back corner of the tank under an overhang.

Made it to the frag swap today and only ended up with two peppermint shrimp. These things just aren't as fun when you have absolutely zero space for new additions. I was debating on getting a bleeding apple scoly but decided I'd rather get a swabbie or 3rd vortech instead

Nice pick up I love my peppermints lol

Well I haven't updated in a while! Tank is still growing strong and coral are growing quite well!

The multibar angel I purchased a while back still refuses to eat prepared food, but despite that he's made himself nice and fat at the cost of all my acro's polyps
So, he will be caught and removed from my system as soon as I have the time.

I also just picked up a second flipper for my frag tank. I have the nano in my DT and love it! I just wish they made plastic blades for the nano flipper because the regular sized flipper is quite large for my little frag tank.

I just added a tierra del fuego mini colony from kdog (thanks again!) and a red dragon frag which pretty much maxes out all available space in the DT.

Lastly, within the next couple months I intend to add a swabbie and skimmate locker from avastmarine to my SCA 302. I will likely upgrade the skimmer to an RLSS-6i by the end of the year too. Along with the swabbie and skimmate locker, I'll be adding an MP10 to the frag tank.

Decided to do some tank cleaning and testing tonight and snapped a few pictures. every time I take photos it makes me wish more and more that I had a dslr.

Really beautiful!

Thank you very much! It's come come long way since it first started. I'm now toying with the idea of removing the big toadstool, front left rock, and big frogspawn and leaving just the one big rock. I like the idea of having a big open sand bed and more of a minimalistic look. Plus if I take out the toadstool that'd add more space for sps. I just wish there was an undo button incase I don't end up liking it!
