Spring frag swap! 05/18/13 @ the odeum

And your guys biggest selling point for the membership was, go to 2 events and the membership pays for itself. What reason does anyone have to join anymore lol

Most of us don't care about the boring meetings and only joined for the free entry into the swaps. If that is changing, then so be it. But I hope the board is ok with a drop in membership because of this. Like I said before, I think increasing the raffle ticket price would have made more sense.

As information, a card carrying CMAS member can also get discounts at some LFS's if you remember to ask. I know I've covered my costs and then some...

I think the venue upgrade is much needed, and should be well worth the additional costs. Looking forward to seeing everyone there at my booth!

I don't think anyone has a problem with the additional cost for the larger venue. But many feel that this cost should be passed on to the non-members and not the people who are supporting CMAS. By charging non-members $15, I would guess that you would see more people choose to join CMAS for the additional $5 and get in for free. But it seems that is not going to happen, so now CMAS will lose hundreds of dollars in membership fees.

Thanks Jimmy, we agree, people will hopefully be pleasantly surprised by the event this time around. Just in the last couple days we have already seen enough response to fill over half of our floor plan for the event, and waiting for response from quite a few more.

Quick suggestion, any hobbyist fraggers that are thinking about selling at the swap, the hobby tables are filling quickly, and remember if you are an active CMAS member at the time of the swap, you are eligible to split a half table to save on fees. Full table is $50, half table for CMAS member $25.

I got the email from CMAS regarding vendor prices. Although they are higher than what they have been in the past, the prices are still acceptable. CMAS did a good job with tiering the prices... if you're a bigger vendor that needs more space you pay more. This allows the smaller vendors (like me) who don't need a lot of space still affordable.
Thanks!

Hey everybody. I understand that some folks are not pleased about this but CMAS would like to keep this thread on point. The thread is an announcement for the spring frag swap, not a club meeting for complaints. Per CMAS, all members are welcome to attend club meetings where their opinions can be heard. Also, If I'm not mistaken, CMAS has provided a place on their site to discuss club matters openly.

Cheers!
